So glad I got to visit Williamsburg while in New York for Fashion Week. Ash and I met up with Jamal of Style Society Blog for some early morning coffee and breakfast.
Here's what I wore...
I decided to do a little pattern mixing beginning with my J.Crew suit pants (similar here) a thrifted pinstripe vest, and vintage tweed blazer.
The key to pattern mixing, is maintaining a consistent color palette, with a transitioning piece. In this outfit, I chose navy and green as my foundation colors - trousers: navy/green, vest: navy, blazer: green stripes - that way, your outfit flows in continuum.
Here, the blazer was the perfect transitioning piece for adding a new color - mustard.
Pay close attention to the details gentlemen, it'll make all the difference!
Thrifting is one of our favorite hobbies, and frankly our main hub for unique finds- such as this briefcase. We've had it for about 4 years, and it just continuously ages nicely.
Doesn't hurt that it's in my favorite chestnut hue!
I continued consistent color play up top with an Arrie Rose pocket square, and Tied to The Nines bowtie (similar here).
Again, the blazer was the perfect transitioning piece, aiding in the pop of mustard superiorly, and navy/green underneath.
Patterned socks are perfect for adding that extra oomph to an outfit. I have drawers full of 'em, and a pair for every day, and occasion. You can never have enough socks!!
I'm wearing a comfy and colorful pair from COLDF33T (these are the Medium-Dot socks).
sunglasses: zeroUV, blazer: thrifted (similar , bowtie: Tied to The Nines (similar here), pocket square: Arrie Rose, shirt: Zara, vest: thrifted, pants: J.Crew (similar here), belt: American Apparel, watch: Timex, socks: COLDF33T, shoes: Florsheim
We want to especially thank Jamal for being so hospitable, and genuinely kind. He is one of the people who truly contributed to making our New York trip, one for the books.
Don't forge to check out Style Society Blog, and hope you enjoyed this collaborative, mid-week post.
